Love is in the air and Nollywood actress, Ini Edo is no exception in displaying how much she loves her husband. Not many can go on social media to pour their lovers or husbands with sweet and romantic words that could melt even the hardest or stone-hearted guy on earth.

For Ini Edo, nothing can stop her from telling her hubby, Philip Ehiagwina how much she loves him and what the Edo State US-based businessman means to her.

A perfect day to do that was his birthday, which was on Monday, January 7, 2013. The Akwa-Ibom actress went on twitter to flaunt Philip and left a romantic message most men could struggle to get from their love partners.

"Happy birthday to my soulmate, my hero, the love of my life, my husband Philip Ehiagwina. I pray that long life and good health be yours now and forever. I love you," Ini Edo tweeted.

Why Women Cheat

In a committed relationship, nothing hurts more, or is harder to recover from than infidelity. The subject of infidelity and cheating partners have been picked apart to a point of exhaustion and most statistics claim, -as a lot of people agree- that more men than women are prone to cheating on their partners.

Yes, we cannot deny that female infidelity exist, in fact some claim that it is on the rise, but this trend does not seem to garner as much attention as when it comes to the opposite sex.

These days, nothing gets more tongues wagging and more eyebrows raised than the news that a celebrity has been unfaithful.

Jude Law, Jesse James, Tony Parker, and Tiger Woods are very good examples. But shouldn’t we consider the fact that these men only made the news because they g0t caught?

Generally, female infidelity is more damaging to a relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying male infidelity can’t be harmful, but when a woman cheats, it is often the death knell to a couple’s relationship.

I came across a story earlier today in Daily Punch Newspaper, about a man who was apparently convinced that his wife was unfaithful, so much so that he attacked the poor woman with hot iron leaving her with severe burns and stab wounds.

You’d think that that is enough to calm his demons, nope. Allegedly, after attacking his wife, he also murdered their son just to drive his point home. Well, if I’m an adulterous wife and I come across something like this, I’d immediately retrace my steps, cover my tracks and make absolutely sure that no evidence of my infidelity will ever be found out.

The truth is that, women have always lied about their sex lives. We’ve been taught to lie from childhood especially in a matter of things that are sexually-related. From the 16-year-old who swears to her father that she’s never been kissed, to the 23-year-old woman who states convincingly to the man, on the first date that she’s only ever had one sexual partner, we get better at lying to protect our virtue as we grow.

It is therefore obvious that while men might exaggerate their sexual conquests, the bigger liars are women. Why do women lie? Because we must, and because we can. In spite of apparent equality and a more sexually open society, we are still more harshly judged for our sex lives than men. I mean, can you imagine a leading female politician having an affair and her husband standing loyally by her?

Due to the fact that a woman’s infidelity can be hugely detrimental to the relationship and her life in general, I think it is safe to say that she would probably go an extra length to hide her secret affairs from her partner.

Isn’t the fact that the late Hollywood actress, Farrah Fawcett succeeded in having a secret affair for eleven years without getting caught, proof that women really are capable of more than we think? In fact, the actress literally took that secret to the grave as the affair was only made public shortly after her death.

Yes, both sexes are prone to cheating, perhaps it’s true that more men do cheat, but the age old philosophical question applies here;

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
So, the question is this, are men really more likely to cheat, or are women just better at hiding their indiscretions?

Man Bites Off Ear Over N200

Man Bites Off Ear Over N200

A provisions trader, Chukuma Ameh, has been arraigned before the Senior Magistrates’ Court, Mararaba for biting off the left ear of one Abdulaziz Saidu in a fight over N200.

The pair were found fighting on the street by the police patrol team attached to Sani Abacha Road, Mararaba B, led by Inspector Mayibe Tube and were arrested.

Both of them were treated at the Maraba Medical center before they were taken to court yesterday.

Ameh who spoke with LEADERSHIP outside the court, said after the Nigeria-Ethiopia football march on Tuesday, he was at his shop at Abacha Road when Abdulaziz came into the shop and demanded to be paid N200 he claimed to be owed.

He said he was eating at the time and had told Abudulaziz that he owed him no money, following which Abdulaziz went outside, picked a bottle and made to stab him with it but he had blocked it with his right hand, a move which almost cost him his right thumb which was almost severed by the bottle.

“See my hand, I slept in the hospital yesterday because the cut was deep and one of my veins was cut. After he injured me on the hand with the bottle, he hit my head with the bottle and it was in a bid to save myself that I pushed him to the ground and bit his ear,” Ameh explained.

In his defense, Abdulaziz denied that he had wrongfully attacked Ameh.

“Chukwuma asked me to change money for him to give a customer so I gave him N200. After the match, I asked him for the money and he said he didn’t owe me. He was the one who dealt me a blow first and we started fighting. I later went to the police and made a report and some policemen followed me to his shop.

“When we got there, he told the police to go that we will settle the matter amicably and after they left, he broke a bottle on his head and as we were fighting, he bit my ear,” he stated.

Seven occupants of three vehicles, in Ogun State, narrowly escaped death at Alagbole in Ifo Local Government Area of the state as a fully loaded truck crashed into the vehicles.

A source at the scene of the ghastly accident, who is also an Assistant Inspector with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Phillips Chijioke told our correspondent that the truck marked Lagos FST 501 XA lost control and rolled backwards while ascending the Alagbole hills.

He explained that the truck rolled backwards ramming into a long queue of vehicles in the evening traffic jam that is a usual occurrence in the area, noting that occupants of the three vehicles affected by the accident were immediately rushed to unidentified hospitals in the neighourhood.

Another female survivor that drove a Honda Accord car with registration number Lagos KR 794 EKY trapped under the rear of the truck praised God for saving her life and that of the other occupant of the car.

The lady simply identified as Queen said she was not driving so close to the truck, having observed that it was not balanced before it started rolling backwards, noting that all attempts to cross to the other lane proved abortive as other motorists refused to give her room to do so.

“When the lorry started rolling backwards there was nothing I could do but something in me just told me that l would not die this way and l repeated it myself calling out my name loud,” she said. With bruises on her left leg, she praised God for saving her life in the wreckage.

Other vehicles involved in the accident were Sienna Toyota bus marked Lagos AKD 735 BB and a Toyota Jeep whose registration number had been removed before the NSCDC official got to the scene of the accident.
