Addressing the new officers at the passing out and piping ceremony at Air Force Base in Kaduna , Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Alex Sabandu Badeh said the challenges of tackling the spate of terrorism and other internal security threats in the country remain the highest priority of the federal government and by extension the Nigerian Air Force.
He said the new officers will be deployed to crisis prone areas and other parts of the country to assist the military in protecting lives and property of the citizens.
The air force chief said the participation of the Nigerian Air Force in the ongoing effort to flush out rebels in Mali has earned the service the reputation of an effective and dependable force.
Kaduna state governor, Muktar Ramalan Yero commended the efforts of the Nigerian Air Force in ensuring peace and security in the state.
The 144 Short Service Course 21 cadets, among whom were 16 female officers, were commissioned as flying officers after the passing out ceremony.
