Mum Who Beat Son To Death For Failing To Memorize Quaran Is Jailed For Life

Remember Sarah Ege?
She is the 33 year old woman who beat her son Yaseen to death and burnt his corpse claiming that he had died in a house fire.

Ege initially denied killing her son, blaming her husband instead. Yousef Ege, 38, was later cleared of failing to prevent the death of his son.

Sara Ege confessed to the murder, but later retracted the confession saying she had been forced into it by a threat of violence from her husband and his family.


The cruel mum whose case has been in court for some time now has now been jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 17 years.

Her son Yaseen had suffered multiple injuries to his body and died in July 2010 from internal injuries caused by three months of punishing beatings.

His death was treated as a terrible tragedy in the aftermath of the blaze but it was quickly found he was dead before it started.

Before the trial she had spent several months in a secure psychiatric unit after being sectioned by doctors.
