The victims were among the hundreds of students who protested against the scarcity of electricity and water in the school, during which some soldiers invaded the premises and started firing shots and killing four students.
Nassarawa State Police Command spokesperson, Michael Ada, confirmed the killing of the students but denied that they were shot by police officers.
He said the commissioner of police in the state was already at the scene.
Report has it that there has been power outage in keffi for about 3 weeks now, making learning conditions unbearable for the students and also resulting water shortage.
As a result, the SUG (Students Union Government) organized a peaceful rally to bring situation to the notice of the school authority but unfortunately, things turned awry. See more pictures below:
The school has been closed till further notice and the Governor of the state Tanko Almakura, has advised all students to leave the school premises.
When will law enforcement agents stop taking
laws into their hands??? When? This is really disheartening.
