Alaafin Of Oyo warns Jonathan over Yorubaland

Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, and President Goodluck Jonathan

Alaafin Of Oyo, HRH Oba Lamidi Adeye (Iku Baba Yeye) is undoubtedly one of the most revered traditional rulers in the Nigeria from southwest.

In a quote recently credited to the monarch, he vehemently gave an elderly advice to President Goodluck Jonathan to learn from his predecessor who have in the past attempted to capture the political power of the Southwest by force.

The monarch pointed out how his predecessors have embarked on such herculean task but failed.

“My fatherly advice to those in authority at the federal level and especially our amiable President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, is to learn from the mistakes of his very illustrious predecessor, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, by resisting any temptation to take the ‘west by all means.’”
