A man accused of rape has been jailed for 35 years.
67-year-old Ismael Cruz was found guilty and jailed after raping his son's 19-year-old prom date when she stayed at their home after the dance.
The young girl explained to police that she woke up to find herself partially undressed and that Cruz was on top of her.
When she realized the man assaulting her was her boyfriend's father, she then screamed for help.
Court documents revealed that Cruz was then brutally beaten up by his son.
It was also revealed that Cruz, who has been in prison twice before for driving under the influence, said he had more than 60 beers on the night of the rape.
His attorney had asked the state judge for the minimum 25 years but he was sentenced to 35.
