Nigerian Army Organises Race For Youths In Port Harcourt

The 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, said on Wednesday that it would organise a 12km race, tagged "The Miler" for youths in Rivers on Nov. 10.

The Public Relations Officer of the brigade, Maj. Michael Etete, said in a statement in Port Harcourt that the race was being sponsored by the Brigade Commander, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Buratai.

The statement said the competition was being organised to encourage youths to discover their talents to play physical and mental roles in the society.

It said that the competition would be run on the major streets of Port Harcourt, starting from the Civic Centre to the Liberation Stadium, Elekahia.

"The competition is open to members of the public between the ages of 18 and 55," the statement added.
It called on interested participants to pick up entry forms at the 2 Brigade Physical Training Wing.
It added that attractive prizes would be given to the top 10 finishers in the competition.
