Tibetan Leader Asks his Monks to Closely Follow Some 'Very Insightful' Tweets

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet addressed his people this morning from the Tibetan Temple, saying that he got “really inspired after reading some great tweets from some very insightful people”.


The Tibetan religious leader even read some tweets that he’d “favorited” before the entire Temple, and asked a group of monks to follow their authors closely, and to transcribe their every tweet for him.

“When I first joined Twitter, it was a bit confusing, and I didn’t quite get it,” His Holiness said. “But after a while, I found some really inspiring people to follow,” added the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.

The Tibetan religious leader who has more than 5 million followers on his Twitter account, said that tweets from various “life coaches” and “productivity gurus” really got him thinking, and that he will probably use them as the “soul base from which he will form his new philosophy.”

“After reading profound tweets like ‘act like a champion, and then become one’, ‘it’s not knowing what to do, it’s doing what you know’ and ‘what we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do’, I’ve started re-evaluating my outlook on life and started focusing on things that are really more important,” His Holiness said.

The Dalai Lama, who is known for his unique understanding of the interconnectedness of spirituality and science, added that he’s thinking about creating a secret Twitter account so that he can “anonymously follow some great inspirational users and guys who write hilarious Chinese jokes.”
