Police in Lagos State have allegedly shot dead two officers of the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 3am on Wednesday when men of the Nigeria Police allegedly ambushed and opened fire on men of the anti-vandal squad of the NSCDC.
Two officers of the corps reportedly died on the spot while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

It was reliably gathered that the attack happened around Ikorodu, Lagos State, where men of the NSCDC had gone for an anti-vandal operation overnight and were returning with their spoils.
It was further gathered that officers of the corps had arrested some oil vandals when the police attacked them and allegedly freed the oil thieves.
It was also further alleged that the vandals had called the police who then came to their rescues when they could not overpower the NSCDC.

Ngozi Braide, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO was contacted to comment on the matter but she was not available to speak to us as at press time. One of her aides who spoke declined to comment on the issue.
