A
powerful bomb has exploded at St. John's Catholic Cathedral in Bauchi directly
across from the Bauchi Township stadium killing several christian worshippers
early this morning.
The explosion reportedly occurred a few minutes after
9:00 AM Nigerian time during Sunday church service on Murtala Mohammed way in
the Bayan Gari area of the township.
However, unconfirmed sources said that al least 50
people died in the bombing.
Nigerian troops have cordoned off the area preventing
journalists from reporting the attacks. Several dead and injured person were
seen evacuated and placed along the streets around the scene of the
attack.
